Life on the island of Rarotonga is very simple. There is not much retail to be found here but one thing that most locals go too and indeed the tourists are encouraged to experience are the saturday markets held every week. Here you will find lots of local stalls selling island inspired items. Bags, hats, clothing, home decor, art and handmade crafts.

When you need a break, a much needed coconut refreshment is always available to boost your energy levels to continue the search for unique items.Be wary though if you do come here. lots of items are imported and not as good quality. Try to scour the items which are labeled with Polynesian made tags to make sure your purchase is authentic.

Dinner is also a highlight once you are done for the day and return to your accommodation.

Nothing is more special than watching the skies turn pastel as the sun goes down with a cocktail in hand.

Island life doesn't get more relaxed than this!
