DINING Cuban Style

Finding good food and restaurants in Havana is a bit of a challenge. But this place is the bomb.

La Guarida is in the old town of Havana and is beyond rustic. Once a former residence to a top surgeon, it was then converted into a culinary treat for both eyes and stomach.

Mostly all Cubans are fit and thin and as there are no lifts to be seen anywhere, walking up stairs is the way of life here. The restaurant is situated 6 flights up a marble staircase. Up again and there is a very impressive open bar with uninterrupted views of the Old Town. They have fused the very old with some new to make this experience one you will never forget.

We were so lucky to be seated on the main terrace for dinner which has only 2 tables. Watching the sun setting over rustic Havana was so special and below vintage cars zipped by and parked in the street waiting for people to join them after dinner.

This beautiful building also doubles up as an exhibition area for upcoming artist to display their work.

If you do visit Havana, then this restaurant must be one to experienced!
