Heart of HAVANA

Every city has a focal point which is considered more established and older than others. Staying in Old Havana however isn't the case.

Most of Havana is as rustic as the centre and incredible buildings with ornate mouldings and colours are seen all over. Here, there is no old mixed with new. It is just old.

From the outside looking at a building you assume that the inside is also as unkept, but thats where the magic happens. Inside is even more incredible with pillars, tiling, enormous doors and statues.

I was fortunate enough to see some of these by either it being a hotel or now converted restaurant.

It really is overwhelming to see the wealth of architecture and the simple surroundings in which people live their day to day lives. For them, this is home and visually nothing special.

But Havana is a treasure, a time capsule and a glimpse into a past world which is still present life to Cubans.
