It is only human nature to presume an image of a place which you have never visited before. For me, watching movies on Cuba gave me this image of a middle aged man, sitting in his run down apartment in a what was once white singlet top, sweating profusely while smoking a cuban cigar and washing it down with dark rum. He is looking out on the city from above as he swelters in the humidity.

Cliche as it is, Cuba is very hot and humid. Arriving here there are so many contrasts but now which stands true is the non stop, everyday and night HEAT.

I am staying in Old Havana and it certainly doesn't get more rustic than this. Beautiful but run down, colourful buildings make up this old town and there is something to see architecturally in all streets.

I have said it before but this really is a time machine back to the past.

Beautiful 50`s cars drive around looking for passengers to show off their city in style. Some restored and sparkling with impressive paint, others still untouched by time and doing the same.

My first day here I have been speechless at the beauty of the city. The colourful buildings all lined up overlooking each other with majestic palaces, hotels and squares still running on old time..

Continue to join me along this journey of mine, exploring Cuba, it`s people, unique buildings and some unexpected glimpses of the past...
