I love exploring new places, but there are certain ones which i feel right at home in and to kick start a relaxing vacation i must spend some days there to unwind. Palm Springs is just that place for me.
Now I love hot weather but i must admit that the week I have arrived to Palm Springs is a scorching one even for a summer girl like myself. Temperature are not getting below 46c in the shade daily and thats really hot! Then add into this the hot desert winds which feels as though your hair drier is set to maximum temperature and blasting strait at you non stop.
I wonder at this point how on earth people lived out here in times before air-conditioning existed. It is so hot even a dip in the bath tub temperature waters of a crystal blue swimming pool isn't able to cool you down. And not wanting to complain, but getting back to your hotel/ apartment and wanting to cool down with a cold shower is not going to happen. Placing the tap on the coolest setting and warm water greets you.
Saying all that however I LOVE it here.
This place has a vibe like no other. Back to back furniture shops, great food, architecture and design found no where else and of course Palm tree`s until the eye can see.
My first day was spent reintroducing myself to this quirky city and soaking in all of its charm..
