Culinary experiences for me also includes a feast for the eyes, and that is what you get with Il Riccio in Capri.

This restaurant is divine! It is apart of the Capri Palace Hotel and is located literally steps away from the famous blue grotto. A short car drive courtesy of the hotel and you arrive at this incredibly blue beauty which invites the outside-inside. No windows are found, only mediterranean blue sea and salty air fills the restaurant.

They have their own designed table-setting and it really is inspiring! Blue and white surrounds you, with an open kitchen where you see the chefs prepare your fresh fish or pasta.. Having lunch here truly is a wonderful experience, but for me I have come here for one treat... THE DESSERT ROOM!

Literally a room full sweets which are all made fresh on site and seriously alluring! It is as if you are walking into a room full of art with tiled floors, walls and ceiling. Mini sculptures are hiding between the impressive tiramisu, canolli , Capri cakes and dozens of others sweets which you can not say no too! (I suggest you go easy on lunch and treat this dessert room as your main meal).

Capri has been the most wonderful treat this year and even though my birthday has been done and dusted, a little extra cake courtesy of Il RIccio`s with a pink candle on top doesn't hurt.
