AREZZO

A stop over in the medieval city of Arezzo, Italy was surprising.

I discovered that this was the town where the movie `Life is Beautiful` by Roberto Benigni was filmed in it`s entirety. And it was totally obvious why they chose this place for such a movie. Nothing has changed here for hundreds of years. Whichever direction the camera is pointed, you see old city Italy. Walking through the streets, alleyways and into the Piazza of Arezzo, time has stood still with no changes.

The only giveaway that it is actually 2016 was seeing people on their phones and iPads sitting out in cafes while drinking their espresso`s.

Very charming and special town which has delicious restaurants full of regional produce. Being fall, truffles were a popular sight on all menus. The butter-white truffle fettuccine was divine!
