BOND GIRL Castaway

I named this blog Bond Girl Castaway for 2 reasons.
One, the James Bond movie THUNDERBALL was filmed here in 1965. Two, that triangl black / neon bikini I wore was such a Bond Girl vibe that seeing these pics, Bond came to my mind. ( I also want to pretend that I was a Bond Girl for a day).
Getting here was super easy from my cottage in Staniel Cay. Zipped towards this little deserted island named Twin Cay with my Bond Girl boat and set up a beach umbrella, picnic cooler, towels and basically the island was claimed! No boats were allowed to be even visual distance from me here unless they wanted a mutiny to take place!
Spent most of the day snorkelling, swimming, (dare I say- skinny dipping, well it was deserted).
The colour of the water is mesmerisingly beautiful. The sand is comparable to white flour and the topography of the island vegetation is nothing but tropical. The beach was full of tiny fish, crabs running sidewards, conch ( shells of the Bahamas) and sea swallows.
This was truely such a humbling experience of just how gorgeous mother nature really is and how insignificant us humans really are in the circle of life on these island eco-systems.
Sadly as I returned, I found out online they have approved and planned to build accommodation / hotels on this beautiful pristine island.
It really makes me hang my head with sadness as it seems another treasure has been stolen away from nature to make more money for people. Who says Pirates no longer work these waters to steal and take for themselves! :(
Will never forget this incredible day!
