Salvation MOUNTAIN

In the middle of the desert another 90 minutes drive from Palm Springs, you will come across a strange curiosity one man dedicated his life to painting and remoulding to become SALVATION MOUNTAIN.

A colourful mould of a mountain has been inspired by the Love of God and it is one of the most unique places I have visited.

The mountain is not big, but big enough to climb to the top and see the colour-blocked art work all around you. It`s hard to believe that one man was behind this and dedicated his entire life to growing it and adding vibrancy to the harsh desert landscape.

If you love taking photos, this is definitely a place to visit and tick off your list. A little bohemian and a lot individual, It is inspirational to see what one person can create if they believe in something strong enough- even to create a mountain!

I travelled here in the early morning to avoid the excessive heat but note that the sun rises against the mountain so for photos the best visiting time is the late afternoon as the sun is setting and the colours come to life! If you are brave enough to go this time, make sure you are supplied with lots of water! The desert heat zaps every bit of water from you very quickly.
