Sahara PALACE Marrakesh

I feel as though I walked into a cupboard somewhere in Narnia and stepped out to a world of ancient opulence, grander and breathtaking beauty.
What you do not experience while looking at these pictures are the sounds around me while being photographed. An abundance of exotic green frogs are playing a tune in the surrounding lily ponds while swallows chirp with happiness of the arrival of spring. This elevates my experience of being in Marrakesh that much more and certainly convinces me that I am in another world.
What you might be thankful for not hearing however is the possible cringe-worthy play-list on my ipod I am rocking too while posing for the pictures. To be accurate the entire "sex in the city" album soundtrack is so appropriate here that I can't stop pressing replay.
Infact it is very appropriate as this is the "Sahara Palace Hotel" which the movie was filmed in! Every bit of this majestic hotel is jaw-dropping. From the drive up to the entrance, the enormous pool ( there is 3) to the rooms which are larger than most apartments.
My terrace is full of colourful mosaics and although not what most would do, I step over my terrace barrier to take these photos on the rooftop over-looking not only the grounds of the hotel but also a peek into the surrounding Sahara desert which envelopes the background.
I feel every bit a princess being here and honestly being royalty for a little while suits me perfectly....
